Meet the course lead
Mr Bobby Sohal
Course: Computing and AIBobby Sohal is a highly accomplished Microelectronic Engineer with over 20 years of international industry experience across the UK and Europe. His career includes designing advanced technologies for government agencies and global companies, alongside founding Design by Chip, where he leads projects that merge creativity with cutting-edge software and computing innovation.
With expertise in coding across multiple languages including Python and C++, Bobby brings deep insight into the world of computing, artificial intelligence, and problem-solving through technology. He has worked on projects ranging from intelligent systems to innovative applications that shape how technology is used in everyday life.
This summer, Bobby will be leading the Gateway Education Computing & AI programme, offering students an inspiring introduction to coding, algorithms, and the fast-growing field of artificial intelligence. Through interactive workshops, coding challenges, and real-world problem-solving, students will gain a powerful foundation in the tools and mindsets that are transforming tomorrow’s world.
